Search Hardin County Court Dockets

A Hardin County court docket records the filings, settings, and results attached to a court case. No single clerk keeps every docket in this Texas county. To search the Hardin County court docket, first identify whether the case belongs to a district, county, justice, or municipal court. Official calendars and online tools can locate a setting or case, while the responsible clerk supplies the authoritative file and certified copies. Public access is broad, but sealed, juvenile, and other confidential material may be restricted.

Hardin County gives you several official ways in. Each one has its own job. The District Court pages post daily or criminal settings. County Court and Probate pages put out their own calendars. The County Clerk links LGS Online Records Search for indexes and some images. Justice and municipal cases live on precinct or city systems. re:SearchTX adds a statewide layer. It is not a full substitute for local sources.

What a Court Docket Shows

Think of a court docket as a schedule of events. It can identify the court and the case. Parties, filed items, hearing settings, and the disposition may appear as well. How much detail you get varies. A posted daily docket may list only what the court needs to run that day. A clerk's register or statewide case detail can show a longer filing history.

Case NumberThe court’s cause number, which is the strongest search key.
PartiesNames or case style when public and displayed.
Docket Entries / FilingsFiled motions, pleadings, orders, or event descriptions available to the public.
Hearing SettingsDate, time, setting type, and courtroom or remote status.
Court & JudgeThe tribunal and assigned judicial officer.
DispositionThe recorded resolution, which should not be inferred from a setting alone.

An entry is not the same as the paper behind it. A line noting an order does not hand you the signed order itself. When the document matters, ask the clerk for the file or a certified copy.

Hardin County Docket Terms

Hardin County pages rely on short setting labels. Learn what they mean, so a calendar entry never gets mistaken for an outcome. The 356th District Court page sorts matters by type. Arraignment, plea, sentencing, pretrial, bench trial, jury trial, criminal miscellaneous, and MTR each get a label. County Court uses labels like announcement, indigency hearing, and pretrial diversion.

Arraignment
A hearing where the charge and plea are addressed.
MTR
A motion to revoke, usually concerning alleged noncompliance with supervision terms.
Announcement
A setting used to report readiness or case status before trial.
Reset
A change that moves a matter to a later date.
Disposition
The formal way the court records a case’s resolution.

A label names the setting, not a result. Pretrial diversion on a calendar does not establish eligibility, participation, or dismissal. An MTR setting does not prove revocation happened either.

Which Courts Keep Dockets

Texas divides trial jurisdiction by subject and offense level. Hardin County has the 88th and 356th District Courts, a constitutional County Court, six JP courts, and municipal courts. Searching the wrong tier can return an empty result even though the right clerk holds the file. Pick the tier first, then the office.

Appeals from county and district judgments may reach the Ninth Court of Appeals in Beaumont. Federal cases go through the Eastern District of Texas and PACER. Those are separate systems, and they do not share a Hardin County cause number.

Hardin County District Dockets

The 88th District Court docket page posts daily PDF calendars and names the coordinator and reporter. The details can be rich. Materials may show date, time, cause reference, hearing type, attorney or party lines, reset notes, and appearance mode. The page warns about Tyler County matters too. A title alone is no substitute for a cause-number check.

The 356th District Court page centers on criminal settings, grouped by date, time, and type. Ordinary Zoom criminal dockets are not currently available without special permission, according to the page. Reporter and exhibit directions are procedural details. They are not proof that a case is open to remote participation.

The official District Clerk page names the office. That office maintains the district courts' records, and its contact information appears there.

That page ties the district docket to the clerk who keeps the felony, civil, family, juvenile, and tax files.

Finding Court Dates and Settings

A Hardin County court date can surface in several places. Look at the clerk's case record. An official daily calendar, a court coordinator's schedule, or the citation and summons can also work. Posted pages cover several lists. They include 88th daily dockets, 356th criminal settings, County Court criminal dockets, and a Probate Docket calendar. These lists can be revised.

Read the date, time, court, setting type, and appearance mode as one picture. A time may mark docket call rather than the exact start of one case. A reset means the old date may no longer control. When two sources disagree, confirm close to the hearing with the responsible clerk or coordinator. The detailed Hardin County court calendar explains each route.

Note: A posted setting is not a verdict. It is not a judgment or a guarantee that every filed item is visible online.

Hardin County Probate Dockets

Probate in Hardin County runs on its own county page, with 2026 calendar links. The probate department is paperless. That comes straight from the County Clerk's procedure letter. Uncontested matters generally move by submission unless a party requests a hearing. So the written filing instructions matter just as much as the date you spot on the calendar.

The procedure letter sets the deadline for filing an original will. Inventory and certified-copy steps follow the signed order. One probate docket entry is never the whole estate file. Guardianship files and protected personal details can carry access limits. Direct document and certification questions to the County Clerk.

Public Access to Dockets

Most court records are open. Judicial case records, though, do not travel under the Texas Public Information Act the way ordinary agency records do. Government Code Section 552.0035 controls. It places judiciary information under court rules and other law, and Texas Rule of Civil Procedure 76a builds an openness presumption with sealing standards for many civil court records. Restricted records can still be withheld or redacted.

Key Rules:

Texas Government Code Chapter 552 - Section 552.0035 distinguishes judiciary records from ordinary agency requests.

Texas Rule of Civil Procedure 76a - Many civil court records are presumed open unless sealing standards are met.

Texas Rules of Judicial Administration - Rule 12 governs judicial administrative records, which differ from adjudicative case files.

Texas Government Code Chapter 51 - Clerk duties and statutory record provisions apply to district and county files.

Juvenile, adoption, and sealed files may not appear. A portal omission is not a formal denial. Ask the clerk whether a public index, a redacted copy, or another lawful form of the docket is available.

Hardin County Clerk Portal Limits

The County Clerk posts a link to the LGS Online Records Search. Its official FAQ describes free index searching. Guests get preview functions too. You can buy certain court-case images, but a subscription is required once you pass five images, and every purchase carries a $0.30 transaction fee. What you can reach depends on the indexed record and its public-access status.

LGS is not one master docket. It serves County Clerk material only. That means no District Clerk register and not every JP or municipal file, and a preview or purchased image is never automatically certified, so ask the County Clerk about certification, odd records, mail costs, and current fees.

The Clerk and Docket Records

Hardin County’s clerk structure is split. District Clerk Dana Hogg’s office keeps the 88th and 356th District Court files. County Clerk Connie Becton’s office keeps County Court criminal and civil files, probate, guardianship, and related county records. Both offices are in the county courthouse at 300 West Monroe Street in Kountze, but their duties are not interchangeable.

County Clerk records and fees

The District Clerk publishes a copy-request form plus a Hardin-only civil or criminal name-search form. That search form states a $5 fee. Copy requests should name the cause, the document, the date, a delivery choice, and the payment method. The County Clerk posts its own fees. LGS instructions come from that office as well.

The official County Clerk source publishes the office's current details, and those details mark the line between county-held records and the district, justice, or municipal dockets. Call ahead when the custodian or access status is unclear.

Hardin County Certified Docket Copies

A calendar, a portal image, and a certified copy are three different things. A calendar tells you when court is set. A portal image may show a filed document. Only a certified copy carries the clerk's authentication. Request the exact document, and do not assume a full-file download comes certified.

For District Court material, list the civil or criminal cause number, the parties, the document date, the number of copies, and the item's title. The District Clerk form offers pickup or mail. It notes postage, and it lists a 2.65 percent credit-card fee with a $3 minimum, plus an extra $1 for a mailed receipt. Verify the total before sending payment.

County Clerk fees and vendor charges differ. JP and municipal records stay with the clerk of that lower court, so contact that office directly. Same-day service is not promised, nor is a public terminal at every office.

Hardin County Courthouse Docket Hub

The Hardin County Courthouse in Kountze is the physical hub for county and district records. It does not hold every local docket. JP offices spread across six precincts. Municipal files stay with the city courts. Before you visit, carry the cause number, the court title, and the clerk's name rather than trusting the courthouse name alone.

The Hardin County government home page is the county's official gateway, and it routes visitors to each court and clerk office.

Hardin County court docket courthouse and government navigation

County navigation on the official site routes users to separate court and clerk offices. That split mirrors the records system itself.

Court Dockets by City in Hardin County

Hardin County has five incorporated cities: Lumberton, Silsbee, Kountze, Sour Lake, and Rose Hill Acres. The 2020 Census counts come from the Texas Demographic Center's incorporated-place table. Municipal court access varies by city. Lumberton runs a Tyler search portal. Silsbee and Kountze take TrafficPayment. Sour Lake uses nCourt. The OCA listings show no Rose Hill Acres municipal portal. There, the court named on the notice controls.

A city name alone does not pick the custodian. Sheriff and trooper tickets often land in JP court. Felonies and major civil matters go through county or district systems instead, so match the court title before you search.
